UK Equality Open
Saturday 16th November 2024 – POSTPONED!
It is with a heavy heart that we have taken the very difficult decision to postpone the UK Equality Open for 2024. The decision has not been taken lightly and is purely due to the low level of registrations we have had compared to previous years. Whilst we have considered other options, we do not feel it would be fair to those who have registered to not be able to provide the competitive experience you would all desire and have enjoyed with us thus far.
If you have already purchased a ticket to compete or spectate, you do not need to do anything, you will be automatically refunded via Eventbrite.
We know some of you will be extremely disappointed, and potentially inconvenienced. It was not our intention and we are just as disappointed given the growth the competition has had over the past few years. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to email us [email protected]
We have really valued your support to date in offering more opportunities for equality dancing in the UK and hope that you will join us again at some point in the future – we hope to share more further down the line. We want to ensure our event meets your expectations, and sadly this would not have been the case this year.
We are truly sorry, and do hope you understand the very difficult decision we have had to make in the interest of everyone involved.
With much love to all our dance community,
The UK Equality Open Team.
____________________________________
The UK Equality Open aims to bring competitive same sex and equality dancing to new areas around the UK.
We work with a new location each year, building social dance scenes leading up to the competition, encouraging new competitive couples in the starter categories and opening up same sex and ‘open couple’ categories to a wider
variety of participant groups.
Our 5th #UKEO will be held in November 2024, with a view to encourage and attract dancers particularly from the south, whilst also adding more opportunities to compete here in the UK for our existing couples as well as attract dancers from the European equality dance circuit.
There’ll be some general dancing as part of our programme, please do join us when the opportunity arises – we want everyone to enjoy a day of dancing!
